Bhralya Mirchya is one of my favourite Maharashtrian cuisines. Roughly translated, you can call this stuffed chili. It hardly takes 15 minutes to make if you have everything in order and ready by your side.
Keep about 50 grams of roasted peanuts, 5-6 garlic cloves, 3 hot chilies, a spoonful of cumin seeds, a spoonful of salt, edible oil, chopped coriander or cilantro leaves, and 7-8 scoured Bhavanagari Chilis handy. Bhaavnagari chili is a kind of mild pepper available in market.
Grind roasted peanuts, garlic cloves, hot chilies, cumin seeds, and salt in a mixer grinder. Add chopped coriander leaves and a couple of tablespoons of edible oil in the ground mixture and mix it well to make a paste of thicker consistency.
Fill this paste in the scoured Bhavanagari chilies. Either fry it in a frying pan or cook it in an oven on microwave mode for about 10 minutes.
Garnish the stuffed chilies with chopped coriander leaves and finely chopped onions, if you want.
You can have it with chapatti (roti)/flatbread or as a side dish.
Do try and let me know if you like Bharlya Mirchya.
